Blind Descent

Removing other climbers from Everest footage while preserving drifting snow and the mountain itself. Visual effects and color grading bring the film’s solitary climb into focus.

Focus on Everest

For this shot, I removed every climber except the story’s main character. Reconstructing the surroundings and the drifting snow kept the scene convincing. Move the slider to compare the original footage with the finished shot.

Keeping the snow in motion

In another shot, the other climbers had to disappear while snow continued to move naturally over the rocks. Careful compositing preserved the interaction between snow and landscape. The original is shown in the finished shot’s cinematic crop for comparison.

Color grading

I adjusted the film’s colors to support the mood and emotion of its scenes. These finished frames show the color work alongside the visual effects.
